Madame Tussaud's

I believe my friend Farinha skipped London Eye, but nevermind. Let’s proceed then. If I am not wrong, we went to Madame Tussaud’s wax museum next.
Michael (mentioned a few posts back) used to say: ‘There are only statues. Boring as all the museums’. I must say I agree with him about the museums (especially that bloody TATE one! But this deserves another post). But it was quite fun. The fact that we could take funny pictures with celebrities made it fun. Touching Keira Knightley’s boobs for example. Some statues were really impressive, very similar. The ones from films celebrities such as Robert Downey Jr.
After this, we went shopping a bit (girls can’t stand living without it. I don’t know wich I hate the most, wether Acessorize or TATE Museum) and ate.
And that’s all, folks. Laters!

Piccadilly Circus and Hyde park on the 2nd Day

After a few days in London and no expressive shopping so far, the girls were starting to get upset, so we went to the Piccadilly Circus. There we found GAP store and the girls did what they had to do, but not only the girls, Lucas and myself found an HMV,which is a CDs and Games shop.
After shopping time we decided to walk to the Hyde park, and we found out that there is a Hard Rock Cafe with a rock museum in the way, so we stopped there to see it.After some time we finnaly made to the park and sat there to eat some snacks play with amanda`s frisbee and relax a little bit.
It was getting late and we decided to leave the park and eat someting, but where?? -Mcdonald`s was the answer, so we went to the one near Swiss Cottage tube station, ate and went home.

Pub night

Ok, let's talk about what really matters, which of course is to have fun. :D
Every Tuesday night students from Hampstead School of English gather at the Railway Pub, near the school. The place gets very crowded with youngsters from all over the world.
There was good beer, good music... what else to say?
Oh, yes, there is something else... the karaoke. :D
Needless to say we did a great performance, always showing our impeccable taste for choosing songs, including Lola by The Kinks and the cherry on top of the ice cream Wannabe by Spice Girls (see the picture)... absolutely remarkable.

First day...

After getting lost in London, we went home to sleep a bit, because we were all going to have a placement test the next day.But first we had to find out how to get to school, so after getting the directions with my host family I met Lucas, whose house was near mine, and we decided to walk to school. According to Kathy, my hostess, it would be a half hour walk, but she forgot to tell me that there was a hill on the way (...) so after 45 minutes walking, we finnaly got to school, met our friends, had the tests and went to the classes.

After all that, we all went to have lunch. In subway, which by the way was our primary souce of food while in london, and went to Westminster to see the big ben and ride the london eye. Right after leaving "the eye", Beca, Cecilia and Gaby had to go home due to some problems with their accomodations, the rest of us stayed there for some time and went home, because it was pub night.

Arrival

After approximately 12 hours, we had finally made it across the pond. We were all knackered and so we agreed to go out to eat and then go to sleep, after all we had to wake up early in the next morning to go to school. Well, it was not exactly what happened.

Michael, at whose house I stayed while there and who turned out to be a very good friend, after very kindly offering me a beer, taught me how to take the bus and the tube. I bought an Oyster Card, which is used to take the bus and the tube, and met Farinha (who writes here) and Lucas, trip mates, at Finchley Road Tube Station. We went to McDonald's and... where were the people? Our brilliant teacher from Brazil changed her mind about the place and told someone else to tell us, but nobody did. Well, we ate and went back home. After some difficulties due to the fact that Wembley Park is Zone 4, we took the tube. Farinha and Lucas went home, but I got lost. I could not recognize where to get off the bus I took. The houses are all the same! I gave up and took a cab.

What a first day!

We went to sleep to wake up early for a test at 8am...
